The Process

  1. Custom Orders

    Since every mosaic creation is a unique piece of functional art, a large percentage of my work is done by custom order. A client may have a broken piece of china, an antique tray, or a special event to commemorate such as a wedding or an anniversary.

  2. Technical Details

    A piece may take anywhere from three to eight weeks to complete. Timing is dependent upon a multitude of factors including the size of the project, finding coordinating patterns and vintages of china, complexity of design.

    For custom work, I begin with discussions with the client, photographs of the room in which the piece will be used and color samples. Then, I select china and create a preliminary design to review with the client. Next, the artistic process takes over.
